we were running late. way late. as in we were the last ones there, and everyone stared as we walked all the way to the second pew and sat down. 

but i still made them pause on the front stoop for (easter) bunny ears.

eighteen easter egg dye tablets, thirty-six tablespoons of white vinegar, nine cups of water, eighteen coffee mugs, eighteen spoons, five tea towels, thirty-two hard boiled eggs, and five excited little boys.

he is six now. the ( lop-sided ) triple layer chocolate cake, star wars sprinkles, and swirly candles prove it.
